📝 2. Grammar: Possessive Adjectives — صفات الملكية
Possessive adjectives are words that show who owns something or who something belongs to. They come before a noun. صفات الملكية هي كلمات تدل على ملكية شيء ما، وتأتي قبل الاسم.
| Subject Pronoun | Possessive Adjective | Example (مثال) | Translation (ترجمة) |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | my | This is my book. | هذا كتابي |
| You | your | Is this your pen? | هل هذا قلمك؟ |
| He | his | That is his bag. | تلك حقيبته |
| She | her | This is her ruler. | هذه مسطرتها |
| It | its | The cat is in its basket. | القطة في سلتها |
| We | our | This is our classroom. | هذا قسمنا |
| They | their | Those are their bags. | تلك حقائبهم |
✅ my book (كتابي) — my books (كتبي) — same “my”!
في العربية، صفة الملكية تتغير (كتابي – كتبي – كتابك – كتابها…). في الإنجليزية، “my” تبقى كما هي!

📝 3. Grammar: The Verb “To Be” (Present Simple) — فعل الكينونة
In English, we use the verb “to be” to talk about who we are and how we are. It has three forms in the present: am, is, are.
| Subject | Verb “to be” | Example (مثال) | Translation |
|---|---|---|---|
| I | am | I am a student. | أنا تلميذ |
| He / She / It | is | He is my father. / She is my mother. | هو أبي / هي أمي |
| You / We / They | are | They are my parents. | هما والداي |
I am = أنا — He is = هو — She is = هي — It is = هو/هي (لغير العاقل)
