Prepositions of Time and Place

Prepositions are important for expressing time and place correctly. This lesson is for 1st Year Secondary literary stream students (شعبة آداب).

1. Prepositions of Time

Preposition	Use	Example
at	specific time, night	at 5 o’clock, at night
in	months, years, seasons	in July, in 2024, in summer
on	days, dates	on Monday, on July 6th
since	from a point in time	since 2020
for	duration	for two hours
during	within a period	during the lesson

2. Prepositions of Place

Preposition	Use	Example
at	specific point/address	at the door, at 10 Main St
in	inside, city/country	in the room, in Algeria
on	surface, street	on the table, on the street
under	below something	under the bed
between	in the middle	between the two chairs
next to	beside	next to the school
