The Future Perfect: Will Have Done
The Future Perfect describes an action that will be completed before a specific time in the future.
Formation
Subject + will have + past participle
Affirmative: “I will have finished my project by Friday.”
Negative: “She will not (won t) have arrived by 8 o clock.”
Question: “Will you have completed the report by tomorrow?”
Time Expressions
Common time expressions with the future perfect:
by + time: “by next week”, “by 2027”
by the time: “by the time you arrive”
before: “before the end of the year”
Examples
“By 2027, I will have graduated from university.”
“They will have built the new school by September.”
Will she have learned enough English by then?”
