Writing: Describing Your Town or City

In this lesson, you will learn how to describe your town or city in writing. This is a common topic for writing assignments and exams.

Structure of a Descriptive Paragraph

1. Topic sentence: Introduce the name and general impression of your city.
2. Supporting details: Describe locations, buildings, activities, and people.
3. Concluding sentence: Summarize your feelings about the city.
