The Verb To Have
The verb “to have” is used to show possession, relationships, and certain actions.
Present Tense
- I have a book.
- You have a pen.
- He/She/It has a car.
- We have a house.
- They have a garden.
Past Tense
For all subjects: had
- I had a dog when I was young.
- She had a beautiful dress.
Negative and Questions
Present: I don’t have / Does he have?
Past: I didn’t have / Did she have?
