Making Invitations

Dialogue 1 — Invitation:
Sarah: Hi Ahmed! Would you like to come to my birthday party on Saturday?
Ahmed: Yes, I’d love to! Thank you for inviting me. What time is it?
Sarah: It starts at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
Ahmed: Great! Shall I bring something?
Sarah: Just yourself! See you there!
Dialogue 2 — Suggestion:
Karim: I’m bored. Let’s do something fun!
Yacine: Good idea! How about playing football?
Karim: It’s too hot outside. What about going to the swimming pool?
Yacine: Why don’t we ask Ali to come with us?
Karim: Sure! Let’s call him now.
Exercises
- Complete the dialogues: A: “Shall we … (go) to the library?” B: “Good idea! Let’s … (study) together.”
- Write an invitation to your friend for your birthday party using “Would you like to”.
- Make suggestions for these situations: a) It’s raining. b) It’s your friend’s birthday.

Homework
Write a dialogue (10-12 lines) between two friends. One invites the other to an event (party, match, picnic, etc.). Use at least: one invitation expression, one suggestion, one offer, one polite acceptance or refusal.
