Singular and Plural Nouns

Regular plurals

Most nouns add -s: book > books, cat > cats, table > tables

Nouns ending in s, x, ch, sh add -es: bus > buses, box > boxes, church > churches

Nouns ending in consonant + y: baby > babies, city > cities

Nouns ending in f/fe: knife > knives, wife > wives, shelf > shelves

Irregular plurals

man > men, woman > women, child > children, tooth > teeth, foot > feet, mouse > mice, goose > geese, ox > oxen

Some nouns stay the same: sheep > sheep, fish > fish, deer > deer

Exercise
