Giving Directions: How to Ask and Give Directions
Knowing how to ask for and give directions is essential when travelling or in a new place.
1. Asking for directions
- Excuse me, where is the bank?
- How do I get to the station?
- Is there a post office near here?
- Could you tell me the way to the museum?
2. Giving directions
- Go straight ahead.
- Turn left/right.
- Take the first/second street on the left/right.
- It’s opposite the school.
- It’s next to the bank.
- It’s between the post office and the café.
- It’s at the end of the street.
3. Prepositions of place
Opposite, next to, between, behind, in front of, at the corner, on the left, on the right.
4. Exercises
