Like + Verb-ing: Talking about Hobbies
We use like + verb-ing to talk about hobbies and things we enjoy doing.
1. Structure
Subject + like/likes + verb-ing. I like reading. She likes swimming. They like playing football.
2. Other verbs with -ing
Love + verb-ing: I love watching movies. Enjoy: He enjoys listening to music. Hate: I hate getting up early. Don’t mind: She doesn’t mind waiting.
3. Questions
Do you like playing tennis? Does he like cooking?
4. Hobbies vocabulary
Reading, writing, drawing, painting, singing, dancing, playing football, swimming, cycling, cooking, travelling, fishing, photography, gardening.
5. Exercises
Complete: I like _____ (swim). She loves _____ (read). Do you like _____ (cook)?
