Some, Any, No and Compounds

Some, any, and no are quantifiers. Each has specific uses in affirmative, negative, and question sentences.

1. Some

Used in affirmative and offers: I have some books. Would you like some tea?

2. Any

Used in negative and questions: I don’t have any money. Do you have any questions?

3. No

Used in affirmative with negative meaning: I have no money = I don’t have any money.

4. Compounds

somebody, anybody, nobody; something, anything, nothing; somewhere, anywhere, nowhere.

Exercises

Complete: I have … friends. There isn’t … milk. … knows the answer.
