In this lesson for 2nd Year Middle School students in Algeria, we study English — Grammar: Countable and Uncountable Nouns — 2nd Year Middle School — Algerian Curriculum.
Countable nouns can be counted (a banana, two bananas). Uncountable nouns cannot be counted (water, rice, information). Use a/an with singular countable nouns. Use some with uncountable and plural countable in positive. Use any in negatives and questions. Use much with uncountable, many with countable.
Examples
Example 1: I eat a banana every day. (countable)
Example 2: I drink some water. (uncountable)
Example 3: How much rice do you want? How many apples?
