Quantifiers
Quantifiers tell us how much or how many.
Some and Any
- Some: used in positive sentences. There is some milk.
- Any: used in negative sentences and questions. Is there any milk? There isn’t any milk.
Much and Many
- Much: with uncountable nouns. How much water?
- Many: with countable nouns. How many books?
A lot of / Lots of
Used with both countable and uncountable nouns in positive sentences.
Examples: She has a lot of friends. There is lots of sugar.
