Conditional sentences are used to express situations that depend on a condition. There are three main types of conditional sentences in English.
Type 1: Real/Probable Condition (Present/Future)

| Form | If + Present Simple, will + V1 | If it rains, I will stay home. |
| Use | Real or likely situation in the future | If you study, you will pass the exam. |
| Variation | Can use modals: can, may, might, should | If you finish early, you can leave. |
Type 2: Unreal/Hypothetical Condition (Present)

| Use | Imaginary or unlikely situation in the present | If I were you, I would accept the offer. |
| Note | Use “were” for all subjects in the if-clause | If she were here, she would help us. |
Type 3: Unreal Condition (Past)
