Adjectives: Order, Comparison, and Formation

Order of adjectives

Opinion, Size, Age, Shape, Color, Origin, Material, Purpose (OSASCOMP). Ex: a beautiful large old round red French wooden dining table.

Comparison

Short adjectives: -er (tall -> taller, big -> bigger). Long adjectives: more + adj (more beautiful). Irregular: good -> better, bad -> worse, far -> further.

Formation

-ful (beauty -> beautiful), -less (care -> careless), -ous (danger -> dangerous), -al (nation -> national), -able (comfort -> comfortable), -ive (attract -> attractive).
