Adverbs of Frequency

Adverbs of frequency tell us how often something happens.

List of Adverbs of Frequency

Adverb	Percentage	Example
always	100%	I always brush my teeth.
usually	90%	I usually wake up at 7 AM.
often	70%	She often reads before bed.
sometimes	50%	We sometimes play football.
seldom	20%	He seldom eats fast food.
rarely	10%	They rarely watch TV.
never	0%	I never smoke.

Position in a Sentence

• Before the main verb: I always eat breakfast.
• After the verb “to be”: I am always on time.
• Between auxiliary and main verb: I have never seen that.
