Prepositions of Time and Place

1. Time Prepositions

AT: specific times (at 5pm, at night, at the weekend). IN: longer periods (in July, in 2020, in summer). ON: days/dates (on Monday, on 5th July). No preposition: this morning, last week, next year, today.

2. Place Prepositions

AT: specific points (at school, at home, at work). IN: enclosed spaces (in the room, in Paris). ON: surfaces (on the table, on the wall, on the bus). Other: under, behind, next to, between, opposite.

3. Common Mistakes

❌ I am in home. → ✅ I am at home. ❌ She was born at 2005. → ✅ She was born in 2005.

Exercises

1. Complete: I was born ______ 2006. I get up ______ 7am.
2. Choose: He is (at/in) the kitchen. The book is (at/on) the shelf.
