Modal Verb: Can / Can’t (ability)
Introduction
We use “can” to talk about ability (what someone is able to do).
Formation
Subject + can + base verb
I can swim. She can play the piano.
Negative: Subject + can’t (cannot) + base verb
He can’t drive. They can’t speak Chinese.
Question: Can + subject + base verb?
Can you cook? Can she dance?
Exercises
