Countable and Uncountable Nouns (2nd Year MS)
Countable nouns
Things we can count: apple, book, pen, chair. They have plural forms: apples, books.
Uncountable nouns
Things we cannot count: water, milk, rice, sugar, information. They have only one form.
Some and Any
- Some: positive sentences and offers: I have some apples. Would you like some water?
- Any: negative sentences and questions: I don t have any books. Do you have any milk?
Exercises
- Classify: water, table, rice, car, sugar, child, bread, book.
- Fill with some/any: I need ___ water. Do you have ___ pens? There isn t ___ milk.
