Using polite language is important for respectful communication. This lesson covers how to make requests and offers politely.
Making Requests

Making Offers
- Can I + verb? “Can I help you carry that?”
- Shall I + verb? “Shall I open the door for you?”
- Would you like me to + verb? “Would you like me to call a taxi?”
- Let me + verb: “Let me help you with that.”
Responding
- Yes, please. / No, thank you. / That would be great.
- Certainly. / Of course. / Sure. / I’m sorry, I can’t.
