Prepositions of Movement in English
Prepositions of movement describe the direction or path of movement. They help explain how something or someone moves from one place to another.
Common Prepositions of Movement

| Into | Entering a space | He walked into the room. |
| Onto | Moving to a surface | The cat jumped onto the table. |
| Across | From one side to another | He swam across the river. |

| Along | Following a line | They walked along the beach. |
| Around | In a circle or surrounding | We drove around the city. |
| Towards | In the direction of | He ran towards the exit. |
| Up / Down | Upward / downward movement | He climbed up the ladder. |
| Over | Above and across | The plane flew over the mountains. |
| Under | Below something | The dog crawled under the fence. |
