Comparatives and Superlatives

Used to compare things.

Comparatives (comparing 2 things)

Short adjectives: adj+er+than (taller than, bigger than). -y: y→i+er (happier). Long adjectives: more+adj+than (more beautiful than). Irregular: good→better, bad→worse, far→farther.

Superlatives (comparing 1 with all others)

Short: the+adj+est (the tallest, the biggest). -y: the+y→i+est (the happiest). Long: the most+adj (the most beautiful). Irregular: the best, the worst.

Exercises

Complete: Algeria is (big) than Tunisia. This is (good) film I ve seen. English is (easy) than Chinese. Compare two cities.
