Grammar: Phrasal Verbs
Verb + preposition/adverb with special meaning.
get up (wake up/stand), turn on/off (start/stop device), put on/take off (dress/undress), look for (search), look after (take care of), come back/go back (return), wake up (stop sleeping), give up (stop trying), find out (discover), throw away (discard).
Examples: I get up at 7am. Turn on the TV. I’m looking for my keys. She looks after her brother. Don’t give up!
Exercise: Complete: Please __ the lights. I want to __ where he lives. Can you __ my cat?
