Prepositions of Time (In, On, At)

Prepositions of time are used to indicate when something happens. The three most common prepositions of time are in, on, and at. Each has specific uses.

AT

Use “at” for specific times and precise moments.

Examples :
– at 8 o clock
– at midnight / at noon
– at night
– at the moment
– at the weekend (British English)

ON

Use “on” for days and dates.

Examples :
– on Monday
– on 5 July 1962
– on Christmas Day
– on my birthday
– on the weekend (American English)

IN

Use “in” for longer periods of time.

Examples :
– in the morning / in the afternoon / in the evening
– in January / in summer
– in 2024
– in the 21st century
– in the past / in the future
