The Simple Past (Irregular Verbs)

Irregular verbs do not follow the -ed rule.

Common verbs

be was/were, go went, have had, do did, come came, see saw, eat ate, drink drank, take took, buy bought, write wrote.

Negative and Questions

Use did not + base verb: I did not go. Did you go?
