The Human Body and Health Vocabulary

1. Parts of the Body

• Head : head, hair, face, eye, ear, nose, mouth, tooth/teeth, tongue, chin, cheek, forehead
• Upper body : neck, shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, hand, finger, thumb, chest, back, stomach
• Lower body : leg, knee, thigh, ankle, foot/feet, toe, hip
• Internal organs : heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, brain, stomach, intestines, bones, muscles

2. Health Problems and Symptoms

• Common illnesses : cold, flu, fever, headache, stomachache, cough, sore throat, runny nose
• More serious : broken bone, sprain, infection, allergy, asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure
• Symptoms : pain, ache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, swelling, rash
• Verbs : feel sick, have a fever, cough, sneeze, hurt, ache, swell, bleed

3. At the Doctor’s
