Prepositions of place are essential words in English that tell us where something or someone is located. They are a fundamental part of English grammar for literary stream students preparing for the Baccalaureate exam.

Common Prepositions of Place

Preposition	Usage	Example
In	Inside a space, area, or container	The book is in the bag.
On	On a surface	The pen is on the desk.

Detailed Usage

Using “In”

Use “in” for: cities, countries, rooms, buildings, neighborhoods, enclosed spaces.
Examples: in Algeria, in the classroom, in the garden, in the box.

Using “On”

Use “on” for: surfaces, streets, floors, screens, pages.
Examples: on the table, on the wall, on page 10, on the first floor.

Using “At”

Use “at” for: specific addresses, points, positions, events.
Examples: at 15 Main Street, at the bus stop, at the concert, at the entrance.
