Introduction
Everyone has a dream job. Some people want to be doctors, others want to be engineers, and some want to be teachers. In this lesson, we will learn how to write about our dream job in English.
Vocabulary: Jobs and Professions
- Doctor: a person who treats sick people.
- Teacher: a person who teaches students.
- Engineer: a person who builds roads, bridges, and buildings.
- Pilot: a person who flies an airplane.
- Nurse: a person who helps doctors and takes care of patients.
- Firefighter: a person who stops fires.
- Police officer: a person who protects people and keeps order.
Structure of a Paragraph About Your Dream Job
- Introduction: Say what you want to be. (My dream job is to be a…)
- Reasons: Explain why you want this job. (I want to be a… because…)
- Qualities: Describe what qualities you have. (I am hard-working, patient, and kind.)
- Conclusion: Say what you will do to achieve your dream. (I will study hard to become a…)
Example Paragraph
My dream job is to be a teacher. I want to help children learn and grow. I am patient and I love explaining things to others. I will study hard at university and learn how to be a good teacher. I hope one day I can make a difference in my students’ lives.
Exercises
- Write a paragraph about your dream job (60-80 words).
