Writing an Opinion Essay

An opinion essay expresses the writer s personal view on a topic, supported by reasons and examples.

Structure

1. Introduction: Present the topic and state your opinion clearly. Hook + background + thesis statement.
2. Body paragraphs: Each paragraph presents one reason with examples. Use linking words.
3. Conclusion: Summarize your opinion and restate your main points.
