Used to, Be used to, Get used to

These three expressions are often confused. They have different meanings and uses.

Used to + V1

Past habits or states that no longer exist. I used to play football when I was young. (but I don t now)

Be used to + V-ing / noun

Be accustomed to something. She is used to waking up early. (it is normal for her)

Get used to + V-ing / noun

Become accustomed to something. I am getting used to the new school. (the process of becoming accustomed)
