Defining Relative Clauses
Introduction
Defining relative clauses give essential information about a noun. Without this information, the sentence would not be complete.
Who (for people)
The woman who lives next door is a doctor.
I have a friend who speaks English well.
Which (for things/animals)
The book which is on the table is mine.
I have a car which is very old.
That (for people and things)
The house that I bought is small.
The girl that won the prize is my sister.
